Gloucester Comic-Con 2016

A couple of weeks ago I attended the first Gloucester Comic-Con. I’d never been to one before, but decided to go in order to help promote my book. Since I’ve been watching Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis over the last few months I thought it might be a simple matter to put together a Stargate uniform. It wasn’t all that simple – the shirt (modelled by a friend who wore a larger version) came from America, as did the trousers. The tactical vest came from Ebay, where it was being sold as a used item (it’s seen action in Afghanistan!) and the G8 jacket came from Silverman’s surplus in London. The patches I bought from Stitch’s Loft in the US. The belt from Flecktarn.co.uk, and finally the boots via Amazon.co.uk.

The comic-con had some visitors in amazing costumes, although I didn’t get to photograph any, and I look forward to going next year!
